WTCA Floating Specialty 2008

Our tradition of excellence continued in San Antonio, Texas on March 8 at the Welsh Terrier Club of America’s National Floating Specialty.  The National Club .. WTCA .. holds two specialty shows yearly.   One of the specialties is held every October in PA at the Montgomery County Kennel Club show, the premier All-Terrier show in the USA.  The other National Specialty rotates locations throughout the United States every year.

Sharon and our new rising star, Bayleigh Shaireab’s Super Hero, “Spyder”, began our wonderful day by winning Best in Sweepstakes.  Sweepstakes are part of the Specialty and takes place before the regular classes. This win is truly very special because professional handlers are barred from showing dogs in Sweeps, giving owners and breeders an opportunity to show their own dogs against one another. “Spyder” gave a simply spectacular performance.

Spydy

“Spyder” was every bit as spectacular in the Floating Specialty classes, and was Winners Dog from the 6 - 9 puppy class.  His half brother, Ch Shaireab’s Bayleigh Repeat Performance, “Petie”, was Reserve Winners Dog.

“Coco”, Bayleigh Shaireab’s Sneak a Peek, who is co-owned by Geraldine and Nathan Jaitin, gave us another peek into what the future holds for her.  She was Best of Winners and Winners Bitch, repeating her stellar performance at the supported entry show in Hatboro, PA this past fall, when she also won Best of Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes, shown by Sharon, at the National Specialty at the MCKC show.

Emma

“Emma”, Ch Bayleigh Shaireab’s Cover Girl, co-owned and co-bred with Wendy Warnock, completed her show career by winning Best of Breed in San Antonio at the WTCA Floating Specialty.  “Emma’s” show career started exactly one year ago by winning a Group placements from the classes.  In one short year “Emma” was a multiple group and Multiple Best in Specialty Show winner.  Watch for “Emma” to continue her winning way in the whelping box.

The year began with this wonderful weekend.
Look for our new stars to shine at Montgomery County Kennel Club in October, 2008
